Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!,
Saturday started with early morning showers but that did not stop The D.O.G.S. from heading to the course. A combination of the rain and a packed course delayed the start 30 minutes. Things were a bit slow on the front nine but pace picked up on the back nine and all 37 players who submitted cards were able to complete their rounds, and stay dry.
Welcome to Octoxa Christofferson, Robert Jin Mo June and Chloe Eun Kyoung Oh who all played their first round with us; Robert and Chloe were fortunate to pick up the Booby Prize and Most Exercise Prize. We hope to see you back soon.
It looks like Dave Prosser was a bit chagrined by our mention of his snowman last week as this week's round was the "Dave Prosser Show"; he started on hole 10 and promptly carded his second eagle of this competition. Not satisfied with that, he went on to take both Longest Drive prizes, Drive & Pitch, Lowest Gross with at 74, and most egregious, scoring 43 points to handily stomp yours truly's 40, for Weekly Champion!

Last December at our end of year party we handed out Blue Jackets to past Champions. Some of them were unable to attend; this week Ian Smith received his long overdue jacket for his win at Gunung Geulis West in March of 2016. Congratulations Ian!
We will be handing out the rest of the outstanding Blue Jackets following our final round of this tournament on February 9, 2019.
At the halfway point of our tournament David Prosser and Len Ogembo are beginning to break away from the pack but Axel Hertzke, Richard Mau and Andrew Mackin are staying close and keeping them honest. This tournament is a long way from being over.

New Rules
As most people are aware, 2019 has brought changes to the rules of golf. To help our members get up to speed on the new rules we have added a page to our website where you can find information and links to learn more. Please check it out here.
Handicaps
In order to ensure our members are on an even playing field we will be joining the Tee Set handicap system at the end of the current tournament. From start of our next tournament all D.O.G.S. members will have a handicap based on the USGA system. For those players not already in the Tee Set system we will use previous D.O.G.S. rounds to calculate your initial handicap.
We also encourage players to turn in scorecards from games at Jakarta area courses not played with D.O.G.S. or Tee Set. A copy of your scorecard should be submitted to us at jakartadogs@gmail.com for this purpose following your round(s).
