D.O.G.S. 3rd Round at Modern Golf & Country Club

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!,

With the rain beginning to dissipate as we head towards the dry season the 21 D.O.G.S. that played (only 20 cards handed in) found the fairways much firmer than the first two rounds, a little extra roll always helps.

However, with the ground still soft underfoot in many places, lift clean and place remained. The drier week most likely led to fair weather players coming out Saturday but despite the busier morning we were still able to get away a bit earlier off holes 1 and 10. After a slowish first nine speed picked up on the second nine as the morning groups cleared allowing us to finish in good time.

Kathy Scalabre battled hard in winning the Most Exercise with 110 strokes and an impressive 35 points. Something to work with and fight for a Little Dog in the future, well done Kathy.

James Bristow has become a regular long drive winner; this week it was on hole 13, he was also Lowest Gross with a fine 83. Back from an extended absence Juju Juhaeriah showed her hitting ability taking longest drive on hole 5.

Special mention to Jens Roestel who was able to complete 18 holes after having trouble finishing his last two rounds; getting in just 1 at Emeralda and only 9 at Rancamaya. Jens' perseverance paid off with him taking Nearest to Pin on the 3rd.

Douglas McQuater had a great day collecting Nearest to the Pin on the 11th, Deemples Lowest Net with a 70 and Weekly Champion honours. Well done Douggie!

A super big thanks and appreciation to Mrs. James Bristow for those amazing Samosas she cooked for us and sent along to the course with James; enak sekali!
