Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!,
30 players came out to see who would get to take home the Big Dog and were eager to get their rounds started. The course had groups teeing off at the scheduled tee time. A few groups from the morning crowd initially held up play but eventually the Dogs got spread out and everyone was able to get in by dark.
Welcome to Ian Law and Ingo Rose who joined us for their first D.O.G.S. rounds. Come back soon gents.
In the weekly competition Jari Rahtu and Mark "Dirty" Johnson were both double winners with Jari taking a Longest Drive and Drive & Pitch. Dirty took a Nearest to Pin and Putting Champion with 31 putts (those greens are not easy). Back after a week off due to illness, Tim Knight took the Lowest Gross with 76. Axel Hertzke was our Weekly Champion with 40 points.
It was a hard fought 6 weeks and after 108 holes of golf there was only 4.7 points separating 1st and 10th place in the Eclectic tournament. The Lowest Gross competition turned into a runaway. At the end of it all we present our proud winners:
Lowest Gross Champion - Fernando Gaggino
2nd Runner Up - Craig Edwards
1st Runner Up - Tim Knight
Eclectic Champion - Fernando Gaggino
Before adjourning for the evening we had one last bit of old business to attend to; Tim Knight was presented his Blue Jacket for his win at Gunung Geulis in 2015. Here he is proudly wearing it. Well done Tim!
Next week we move closer up the toll road to a course with 2 very distinct feels; the first-nine holes are set on low-level areas, and back nine holes on higher-level. The naturally rolling fairways and undulating greens will pose a good challenge to the D.O.G.S.
The D.O.G.S. games here are always well attended so get off the couch, grab a friend and join us for our first round at this popular venue.
