Hail the D.O.G.S. !!!!!

Ramadan is upon us and with it comes our annual trip down the toll road to a course everyone looks forward to playing. Players began arriving early and were greeted with clear skies and a staff happy to see us again.
Right on time the starter ushered us off to tee boxes 1 and 10 to get the tournament started and just like that Round 1 of the D.O.G.S. 2026 Eclectic at Rancamaya was underway.
With no on ahead of us we were able to make good time around the front 9. Just after the turn, the weather took a nasty turn with heavy rain starting to pour. One group decided it was wise to head to the kiosk after the Par 5 "Eagles Nest" to wait out the rain. Positioned at the top of the course they experienced some frighteningly loud thunder crashes and equally disturbing lightning strikes nearby. Quite a show.
After a 30 to 40-minute delay, players ventured back onto the course, which had become noticeably muddier. Despite this, spirits remained high, and all players who chose to continue were able to complete their rounds well before nightfall.
While results were being tallied players enjoyed very cold beverages provided by San Miguel Indonesia and took in the always stunning sunset.
Eric Mary and Marc Desilets delivered exceptionally precise tee shots, securing the Nearest to Pin awards on "Parkway" and "Turning Point." Daniel Park's impressive drive on "Terraces" was unmatched, earning him the Longest Drive title. Unfortunately, the flag from "Patience" was not returned, leaving that prize unclaimed. Lukas Musial and Bobby Cangkrama confidently took home the Drive & Pitch awards for "Flower Trap" and "Draw Out."
Switching courses always presents a challenge in putting, as players must adjust to the greens. Dave Zeiters, perhaps benefiting from his absence at the Imperial Tournament, claimed the Putting Champion title. Although Michael Benner had been away for several weeks, he returned to collect the Booby Prize and Most Exercise awards.
Daniel Park was called back up to receive the Lowest Gross and Runner Up honours. Lastly, the Weekly Champion Little Dog award was proudly collected by David Zeiters.
Congratulations to all of this week's winners!

The annual tournament at Rancamaya also brings along the much anticipated D.O.G.S. & TeeSet Weekend featuring the renowned yearly grudge match between the societies, followed by our joint party and the Sunday afternoon Rod Williams Memorial Charity Scramble. We are actively seeking sponsors for prizes for this event. Please contact John if you are interested in contributing.
