Fourth Round at Rancamaya Golf & Country Club

Hail the D.O.G.S. !!!!!


A last-minute decision by the course to allow us a shotgun start caused a bit of chaos at the start of the round. Most groups were able to sort out which hole to start on, and those who didn't simply began at holes 1 or 10 as usual. In the previous three rounds, the D.O.G.S. were lucky to avoid the rain, but this week was different. What was initially expected to be a brief heavy shower turned into an all-day downpour. The D.O.G.S. persevered through the course despite the relentless rain. Some groups paused when the rain intensified, while others plodded on. Eventually, the rain ceased, allowing players to enjoy a fantastic finish on the last few holes.


Welcome to Michael Milette, Shiva Kumar and William Rol who joined us for their first D.O.G.S. rounds. Thanks for coming out, and rest assured, the weather is typically much better!



Nearest to Pin prizes were shared by Simon Laneri and Peter Cue. Akhil Aggarwal and Terry Tyler flexed their muscles taking the Longest Drives. Jude Alexander and Tony Wood proudly claimed the Drive & Pitch awards.


Once again Roger Finnie made short work of the greens winning Putting Champion with just 24 taps of the flat stick. New guy Michael Milette was our Booby Prize winner.


As you may remember, the last time Peter Cue joined us, he emerged as our Weekly Champion after winning Most Exercise in his previous D.O.G.S. round. This week, Peter completed the cycle by taking Most Exercise. Anirudh Katre effortlessly navigated the wet conditions, shooting a 76 to achieve Lowest Gross. Terry earned another accolade as Runner-up to Weekly Champion Roger.

Congratulations to all of this week's winners!


This week there is another change at the top of the leaderboard with Roger Finnie occupying first place and Axel Hertzke hot on his heels. Just 2 weeks left to make up ground by collecting those improvements.

The D.O.G.S. & TeeSet Weekend will be here before you know it. Get yourself registered ASAP. Captain Dougy is looking for players to compete in the match play against TeeSet on Saturday; let him know if you would like to represent the D.O.G.S. Inform John of your scramble team players and team name for the Rod Williams Memorial Charity Scramble.


Players are reminded to arrive at least 30 minutes before our scheduled tee off time and ready to play. We will proceed with an early start if possible, and those who are late will need to catch up with their groups on the course.

Manila Dogs 25th Anniversary

Our founder, Fritz Hainzl, was originally a member of the Manila Dogs. When he moved to Jakarta, he saw an opportunity and created a similar organization—what we now know as the Djakarta Old Golf Society or D.O.G.S.


This Saturday, March 14, 2026, the Manila Dogs will be celebrating their 25th Anniversary at Club Intramuros Golf Course in Manila.


Several Dogs are making the trip to Manila to join in the fun. If you are interested in being part of the celebration, please let John know!
