D.O.G.S. Third Round at Riverside Golf Club

Updated: Jul 6, 2020

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!,

64 players came out for the D.O.G.S. and Tee Set day where teams from each society competed for the Jurgen Degert Trophy. The D.O.GS. were led by Captain Dougy McQuater and Tee Set was behind Captain Simon Reynolds. For those not in the match play competition there was still the Little Dog to chase down.

The coveted Juergen Degert Trophy

Prior to teeing off players gathered for a photo opportunity. Craig Edwards sent Kevin Dobson off to the Driving Range to look for stragglers and then quickly formed everyone up for the photo. We still managed to get Kevin into the shot.

Following the group photo it was off to the tee boxes and the competition was underway.

It doesn't happen often but Rob Nicholls managed a birdie and even caught it on video.

The final result is a bit misleading of how tough the competition was as all the matches were hard fought and close.

In the end the good guys came out on top with the D.O.G.S. retaining the trophy 7 to 3. Well done D.O.G.S.!

While the results were being tallied everyone enjoyed a poolside barbecue and swapped stories about their day. Thank you to Roger Finnie for arranging and Riverside Golf Club for making everything run so smooth.

The team competition wasn't the only excitement on the day. The chance to win the Little Dog brought out more good golf with several players getting above 40 Stableford points. In the end Tee Set got some form of revenge by one of their own winning the Little Dog. Compliments to our Weekly Champion Michael Seabrook.

Congratulations to all of our winners! Full results can be viewed on our Leaderboard.

At the halfway point of our tournament we have seen a lead change each week and nobody has started to run away from the pack. With 3 rounds to go there is lots of golf to be played to determine who will be taking home the Big Dog at the end.

Grab a friend and come join us for our next round.
